When I signed up about 6 months ago, I was led to believe we'd receive status updates. I haven't received one yet, and I'm eager to know when we might expect to get connected. TIA.

Hello Tom, we're sorry for the inconvenience with receiving email updates. Updates for all our buildout areas are available here on the fiber site on our "Updates" tab located along the top bar of the page.

To be ready for installation of the fiber to my house in 2024 I want to pre install the conduit for the fiber this month. I am running a new power cable in conduit to the house to replace the direct buried cable. So as long as I have the ditches open I want to preinstall the conduit for fiber. Do you have construction specs for the installation from the street to the house and also withi the premises? Could you please supply those soonest. Thanks.

Hi Steve, Thanks for reaching our and looking ahead for your fiber installation. 1" conduit will be needed for fiber to the home, and a broadband engineer will be in touch next week via email with additional information. Full fiber standards will be posted to our "Updates" tab soon.

We're happy to have you on board with our PUD fiber buildout, William! Thank you for your support and we look forward to bringing high-speed internet to you (sounds like one cool birthday present!). We are an open-access network, meaning that Hughes Net could technically be a provider through the PUD's fiber network, should they contract with us. Our goal is to provide a fiber pipeline and help get folks the vendor they choose, while also being a local provider ourselves. Thanks again, William!

Hello. Just a quick note after I re-registered on this site. The registration survey asked what service I'd be interested in. Unfortunately, a key piece of information is missing from the service descriptions: DATA CAPS. Will each package have different data caps? Will they all be unlimted data? Personally, I consider the data limit more important than the service speed. Perhaps it's stated elsewhere, but I couldn't find it. Thank you for your time and thanks to Mr. O'Donnell and the PUD for their efforts in keeping us updated and informed.

Hello Derek. There are no data caps on any of our internet service packages. I'll try to make that more prominent.

I just re-signed up again today (5/7) per your email, in which you said we'd keep our original spot on the queue. We have two street addresses here, both 365 and 363 Discovery Ridge Rd. When I signed up the first time I think I used the 365 address because that's what the county uses, but when I signed up today I used 363. I want to be sure that the date of my first signup will apply to our residence's spot on the queue. Thanks, Tom

Thanks for signing up Tom! We can build to whichever address you prefer, or both if you want two pay for two separate services.

I am currently building a house in the PT Business District area. I know that residential service is not currently available in the PT Business District zone, but I would like to prepare for the day when it is available. Services are underground on our street. Should I be putting in a separate conduit for the fiber while the power trench is open?

Hello Robin. Yes, putting in a conduit for future installation is a wise idea.

Hello, I was wondering if I can get an estimated install date? 6 months? 1 year? Near the Quilcene National Fish Hatchery.

Hello Clint, we are still a few months from starting construction. At this point, we are telling folks in this project area that they will be connected prior to the end of 2023. We will have updated and more accurate timelines later this Spring.

How do I pre-register? I've already registered my address. 11 Fulton Way

Hello Dianne. Pre-registering and registering basically are the same thing. We have you on the list now and you are in line to receive fiber installed to your home in 2023. Thanks so much for signing-up. We'll be in touch in the spring closer to the date of installation.

Is there a reason why there are only 2 comments here? Since I do know you have had more than two yet for some reason they are not here. I have had 23 years of dialup , dsl , and 2 versions of satellite so I think I have paid more than enough for the internet here at the same home and yet we keep getting on these lists that never actually happen. I gave up on the newest version of satellite isp since I paid and got nothing after 3 months so I cancelled that order. Since 1984 at the same place I have always paid my power bill early so it seems that actually finally getting a fair and decent isp is due here. (ok lets see if I just wasted time typing this and still only seeing those two posts again)

Hi William, The fiber registration page is a very new platform for us to better manage the large number of fiber registrants around the county–so new that comments have been pretty minimal thus far. We certainly do appreciate folks asking question though, so please do! Internet connections, historically, have been an expensive and often cost-prohibitive venture for companies to consider. Likewise, fiber internet that extends (or even is within range) of a fiber pathway is often cost prohibitive for companies and the homeowners themselves. We are very fortunate here in eastern Jefferson County to have applied and receive more than $25M in grant funding to aid in fiber buildout. As the local utility provider, we were recently granted the ability to act as a retail provider ISP. Being able to operate as an ISP and own and maintain the utility system, we are in a position to provide customers in otherwise cost-prohibitive or hard-to-reach locations with fiber internet.

Please give me this internet connection.......I have been tortured with terrible and slow isp since 1999 Now my satellite dish takes several minutes just to load your site and log in.

Build out in our Olympic Fiber Corridor is slated to begin in just a few weeks, starting with a pilot project on the Bolton Peninsula just east of Quilcene. This area presents terrain and connections similar to much of our service area and will provide a great opportunity to connect our customers to the system and work out our engineering and workflow pipelines. Work throughout the remainder of the Olympic Fiber Corridor (Quilcene to Gardiner) will be underway during this timeframe as well, with aerial fiber being a big focus for PUD line crews and contractors.

Our broadband staff and contractors are on it! Buildout of this scale does take time, however we have a great team here at the PUD to get the job done.

Hi there. I have finished the application and it says I’m qualified but that I need to UBI number but you don’t explain what that is..

Hello Corky, Customers within our PT Business Fiber area do need an active UBI number at the time of installation to the business. The UBI number (Unified Business Identifier) can be provided during the registration process or later when a PUD broadband team member contacts you regarding the buildout to your area and finalizing of the business internet plan of your choosing. The red zoned area (PT Business Fiber) is specific to businesses for buildout at this time. We do encourage residential homeowners to complete the registration process, which is non-binding, to help us better determine areas for potential fiber internet in the future. Thank you for registering!
