Fiber Progress and Planning Update
Crews are full-steam-ahead in the south county, but don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten about our neighbors in Discovery Bay East! 
Engineering is underway and we expect to be stringing mainline fiber to Discovery Bay East zone neighborhoods in late summer of 2024, with completion of fiber to the home by the end of the year.
As fiber comes to your area, the PUD will contact registered homeowners prior to construction and to outline the install process for the box on the outside of the home.
Once the PUD’s network box is in place, a representative will set up a time with the homeowner for equipment installation and network connection inside the home (this is a separate visit).
Sign-ups in the Discovery Bay East area have been strong from the start. We have passed the take rate quota of 70%. Registrations beyond the threshold may be required to cover a $750 construction cost-share (a one-time payment or $20 extra per month for 3 years if you want to spread it out).
